Göppingen Youth Symphonie Orchestra

The Göppingen Youth Symphonie Orchestra was founded in 1968. The orchestra offers the
opportunity to rehearse and perform works of the symphonic repertoire for young musicians in an ambitious and demanding
way. Approximately 100 young instrumentalists rehearse weekly and perform several public concerts each year.
Especially talented young musicians may also be able to perform as a soloist with the orchestra. The Youth Symphonie
Orchestra is a part of the Göppingen School of Music in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany and a member of
Jeunesses Musicales. The Göppingen Youth Symphonie Orchestra has been prize winner in numerous contests. Repeatedly
the ensemble was rewarded first prize and presented on radio and television. International relations, concert tours
and exchange projects play an important role in the orchestral activities. Successfully the orchestra participated in
important european festivals. Concert tours led it to Spain, Hungary, Norway and Austria. The orchestra has given
concerts in the Palau de la Musicá Barcelona , in the Theatre Clavé Tordera, in the City Hall of Budapest, in the
Nidaros Dom Trondheim and in the Klosterneuburg Monastery Vienna. Numerous awardees of the german contest “Jugend
musiziert” have been playing in the Göppingen Youth Symphonie Orchestra. Today many former members work as music
educationalists or even succeeded in becoming a member of professional orchestra such as the Gewandhausorchester
Leipzig, the Staaatsorchester Stuttgart and the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker.
Ruben Chaviano y - “Cuba Reunìon”

Cuba Reunion is the title of the new project founded by Ruben Chaviano, extraordinary
Cuban violinist, and great Italian musicians, fans of Cuban music. Ruben y Chaviano Reunion Cuba seeks to reassess and
develop, with a strong touch of originality, concepts that underlie the relationship between Latin music and jazz.
Already, the two words "Cuba - Reunion" well put together, are to indicate that the concept of merging two distinct
cultures rise from their cultural experiences, but unified in the final process from a supreme musical style which
is now the multifaceted world of jazz Latin. The songs draw from then revisiting the old Cuban melodies but also
the typical tunes from the American continent, all amalgamated by a skilful use of modern arrangements that enhance
the uniqueness of the work. The band's music Chaviano Ruben y Cuba Reunion is essentially imbued with various stylistic
nuances ranging from the traditional rhythms of Cuban culture as the "Rumba", the "Son", the "Guaracha, the typical
harmonic and melodic structures of jazz culture American. In this project the members play as protagonists of a
"little orchestra" where the individual elements revolve around the figure of a performer, composer and soloist, as

Sandro Garbey
Cuban trumpeter and percussionist, originally from classical - popular. He played for years in the

Gianni Battilana
Since the early eighties began her study of Afro-Cuban percussion, playing with musicians of the

Maurizio Degasperi

Matteo Salvatori

Ellade Bandini

Walter Calloni

Massimo Signorini

In 1993 he began accordion classes at the “Luigi Cherubini” state music conservatory in Florence, under
Ivano Battiston. That was also the first year of the existence of a permanent teaching post in the accordion at the conservatory. He took
his diploma in 2002 with full marks, alternating his diploma studies with lessons from internationally famous teachers at a number of
prestigious masterclasses, teachers such as Stefan Hussong, Hugo Noth, Salvatore di Gesualdo, Joseph Macerollo, Teodoro Anzellotti,
Fernando Suarez Paz and Hugo Aisemberg, as well as with Ivano Battiston himself. Later, he was awarded a diploma in Jazz and Jazz
arrangement under MauroGrossi at the “Pietro Mascagni” institute for music in Livorno. Currently he performs in concerts both as a soloist
and in chamber music ensembles, as well as in orchestral groups in a variety of musical genres (classic, contemporary, baroque, jazz,
Balkan, rock and tango) at venues of national and international renown: (Teatro La Scala in San Telmo, and the “Torquato Tasso”
Italo-Argentinian Cultural Association in Buenos Aires; the Folk Musik School in Struer, Denmark; the Trossingen music conservatory in
